General Information
Bangkok is Thailand's the biggest islands. The island is about 550 square km large. Located in west coast of Southern Thailand in the Andaman Sea, it is surrounded by other 32 smaller islands. Bangkok is mainly granite mountain covered by forest and comprised of rubber plantations, pineapples and coconuts, together with many of beautiful white-sand beaches especially on the west coast.

The province is divided into three administrative districts; Muang (Bangkok town), Kathu and Thalang.

In the past, Bangkok’s economy was based on tin mining. After the demand for tin declined, tourism has dominated Bangkok’s highest income. Other local economies include rubber, pearl farms, marine products and agricultural products.

Bangkok's average temperatures are ranging between 22 and 34 degrees Celsius. There are two major seasons here, rainy season and hot season:
  • Rainy Season starts from May to the month of October. However there will be many sunny days throughout the rainy season: showers customarily last little more than 2 or 3 hours.
  • Hot Season starts from November to April. The temperatures will be highest in March and April. The best months for travel are November through February.
December is the peak season for Bangkok's tourism. The island will be packed by tourists from worldwide. If you want to avoid the crowds and enjoy off-season hotel rate come during the summertime. Note that August and September are the wettest month.
